FAQ's - help section
As a beginner, we recommend stable, tip-resistant boats with forgiving handling characteristics – for example, all-round kayaks or beginner whitewater models. It’s important that the boat matches your intended area of use (river, lake, whitewater) and your body weight. We’re happy to advise you individually!
Here you’ll find a list of models we recommend:

The right spray deck depends on two factors: the cockpit size of your boat and your body size. The best thing to do is check our spray deck finder. If you can't find what you're looking for there, just send us your boat model and we'll help you find the right deck.
For cold days, we recommend:
- Dry suit or paddle jacket + dry pants
- Neoprene and thermal functional wear
- Paddle shoes
- Paddle pogies for your hands
This will keep you warm and safe on the water!

For canoe slalom, you need equipment that is officially approved by the ICF (International Canoe Federation). In our shop, under the category “Canoe Slalom,” you will find certified helmets and life jackets that are approved for competitions.
Kayak cross (also known as “extreme slalom”) is an action-packed discipline in which four paddlers race through a slalom course at the same time – each competition begins with a jump from a starting ramp approximately 3 meters high, and contact and tactics are necessary in the gates that follow in order to win the race. The roll zone, in which each athlete must perform a roll, offers additional excitement for spectators. Kayak Cross has even recently become an Olympic sport!
